I’m not really a baseball or softball player, but I just like to hit those balls, and it’s pretty good exercise if you do it over and over.  But running around trying to find someone to pitch balls at me is kind of silly, especially when I can just go over to a baseball academy here and rent a pitching machine. They’ve got the newest stuff there, whether you’re just starting out or ready for a 90 MPH fastball. Or curves, or sliders.  So I just rent a batting cage with pitching machine and go at it.  They’ve got helmets and bats right there, too.  I’m a regular member and I go there a lot.

When I was a kid, my parents sent me to a Florida baseball camp one summer.  That’s when I discovered I really liked batting.  The rest of the game, like pitching and running, wasn’t as much fun for me.  That may sound kind of odd, but that’s why I didn’t get into playing on teams. 

But I’m interested in the franchise opportunities the academy provides.  They train you in teaching, coaching, and/or retail.  I’m thinking of going into partnership with a friend who’s interested in a baseball franchise opportunity.

After you’ve been married for a while, it can be fun to enliven your relationship with matching couples costumes at Halloween. It’s a time to let your imagination and creativity run free. Do you want to do funny matching costumes, or will you choose costumes that are sexy, bizarre, scary, or impersonate your favorite characters from fantasy or the movies? These days the only limits on the adult Halloween costumes choose are the couple’s budget, their own creativity and sense of fun, or maybe the modesty of one (or both) of the people in the relationship. But if you’re open-minded and have a sense of fun, the sky’s the limit on what you can do. I know of one couple that attended a Halloween party this year dressed like Sarah Palin (complete with newborn baby doll) and Joe the Plumber (complete with a plumber’s helper). This couple was the hit of the party, with everyone enjoying their funny costumes and wacky antics. The Palin idea must have been a popular one because I went to another party with a totally different crowd of people that included a Sarah Palin costume, this time paired with a man dressed like John McCain. But whether you use your Halloween costumes to make a political comment or not, dressed in matching or paired costumes is a world of fun.
