The 3 Phases of any Ebusiness

Anyone who is going to set up an Ebusiness should know in advance that there are three basic stages that the business is going to go through. By understanding the purpose of each of these stages, you’ll have better insight into what you need to do to properly market to your customers during each phase.

Phase One: Set-up. During this phase, you’ll be spending your money on laying the foundation for the business. You will purchase ecommerce software and shopping cart software to set up your website so that it’s functional. You’ll make little to no money during this time but are preparing to make money in the future.

Phase Two: Launch and promotion. Once you are ready to start doing business, you will be in phase two. In this phase, you’ll spend your money primarily on generating awareness about your business. You will focus on advertising to create the buzz that will drive traffic to your online site.

Phase Three: In business. Once people have started to know about your business, you’ll need to find ways of bringing them back as repeat customers. You will continue advertising but will be more focused on promotional materials and advertising of sales than on just letting people know that you’re around.

Of course, you will implement many of the same marketing tools throughout each of these phases. But by knowing what the core focus is of each phase, you can better budget to cater to that stage’s purpose. Failure to do so can hinder a business. Hinder it too much and you’ll find yourself in phase four - closed.
