How One Purchase Leads To Another

I have started thinking a lot lately about the different ways that we can save money around my house. One of the things that this has caused me to realize is that spending money encourages the need to spend additional money. One purchase may seem small enough to make it worth your money but then you find out that you end up spending a lot more because of the fact that you are inspired to purchase other items because of this one.
A simple example of this is the purchase of a video game system such as the Wii. You budget your money and are able to fit the purchase of the Wii in without a problem. However, to play the Wii, you need Wii games. And some of those games are better to play when you have additional equipment for the Wii. And the more you play these Wii games, the more you realize that you want a bigger TV to enjoy the playing of these games more.
And that’s just a Wii. These things happen with much bigger purchases as well. You start looking at homes for sale in Florida. Next thing you know, you’re trying to budget how to buy a dunnellon custom home or a panama city custom home. And of course you’ll need to pay for new furniture for the home and new landscaping and on and on and on. So what I’ve learned is that spending is a cycle and that if you can break the cycle then you can save money!
