I always thought that going to a salon was the same thing as getting a haircut. Then I went on a vacation in Tampa with a friend who wanted to splurge on some self-indulgence. We spent lazy days at the beach. We spent way too many hours shopping. And we eventually spent a full day at a South Tampa Hair Salon. After that trip, I realized that going to a salon can mean a whole lot more than just getting your hair cut!

Of course, we did get our hair cut at the Tampa Salon. Well, I did anyway. Instead of getting her hair shorter, my friend decided to go longer with hair extensions. Since I discovered that was going to take awhile, I decided that I should get something fancier done as well. However, I really don’t know a lot about hair so I wasn’t sure what to do. That’s when I found out that you can pay your stylist to act as a consultant in advising you about the right options for your hair.

After deciding on a style and color change, I had a new look that I was in love with. But of course our day at the Tampa Hair Salon wasn’t complete. It turns out that these places don’t just do hair. We got facials done. We got our hands manicured and our feet pedicured. We even got our legs waxed (which is the one part of the trip that I’m not planning to do ever again!) In short, we went to a salon for more than just a haircut; we went to get spoiled.
