The winter holidays are officially over and the New Year has begun. How are you feeling about that? Many people find that the post-holiday blues kick in right around now. For many, this is because the chaos of the holidays was hiding the fact that they are feeling really unsettled with their lives. As we get older, we often find that the dreams we started out each year with are fading into a life of complacency.

Here’s an idea for 2008: go back to college. Not literally (although you could do that too) but make a better-late-than-never resolution to spend 2008 regaining the excitement about life that you had during your college days. Back then, you thought that the world was yours for the taking. And you weren’t the only one who felt like that. Remember the conversations you had with your sorority sisters when doing mundane tasks like shopping for custom Greek Gear? They were filled with giddy excitement about everyone’s plans for the next few months.

To regain your life, you need to regain that excitment. And it’s the little things that can help you do it. If your sorority days were the ones that filled you with anticipation about the months to come, do something small that will take you back to those days. Get some college Greek clothing to wear around the house while you pursue an old passion like painting. Or get some small Greek Merchandise, such as a keychain, that you can look at each day to remind you of the excitement that you want to approach each day with.

Commit yourself to finding your old curiosity in the same way that you once committed yourself to your sorority house. At the end of 2008, you just might find that another year has passed but you’re feeling younger than ever!
